Situated off Orchard Road, the mixed development at 15 Cairnhill comprises a 30-storey residential tower and a 20-storey hotel tower integrated with a podium. The Al-Falah Mosque and a public car park are housed within the podium, which connects to the Orchard Road area and the adjacent Paragon Shopping Centre via covered walkways. A full range of amenities for residents and hotel guests can also be found on its deck.
Given the development’s location near the bustling shopping belt, the design of the façade sought to reflect the vicinity’s rhythm and energy through the use of curvilinear bands of greenery, glass and perforated metal panels around the podium. The articulated panels of the podium were also intentionally angled to emit a shimmery glow, differentiating the development from its neighbours. This vibrancy is then carried upwards towards the façades of the towers, culminating in feature gable ends for the residential tower and a modern crown atop the hotel.
The residential tower offers a range of unit types as well as amenities including swimming and spa pools, golf simulation rooms, and a cigar room. In addition to a restaurant and guest amenities, the rooms in the hotel are installed with dual-key feature to allow flexibility to combine rooms for larger groups of guests. At the podium level, the existing Masjid Al-Falah, located on the first two storeys, was redesigned and expanded, with improvements made to daylighting, circulation and overall internal environment.
In addition, the designers were mindful of the development’s sustainability and green agenda. For instance, the north-south orientation was maximised to enable control of daylight and natural ventilation within the residential and hotel units. Greenery and landscaping features were also thoughtfully incorporated to integrate both the natural and built environments.
