Shaw Plaza Balestier (14,294 sq m) is an Asset Enhancement Project that targets to transform the 20 year-old retail mall in Balestier to become a new lifestyle retail and entertainment destination. Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Whampoa-Balestier, industrial and movie studio influences with hints of heritage are the key driving features of the design experience. The revitalized mall plans to create lively community spaces with experiences such as a re-pedestrianized heritage urban park, shophouse-inspired retail & F&B courtyards, outdoor garden play, and a 11-screen cineplex that includes an interactive kids theatre.
